2021 Fantasy Baseball News Related to COVID-19 (Updated 1/11/21)
WE PLAN TO UPDATE THIS PAGE AS WE THINK OF NEW ITEMS TO ADD. IT MAY NOT BE COMPLETE WHEN YOU VIEW IT AS THIS JUST REPRESENTS OUR TAKE ON THE LATEST CIRCUMSTANCES. How to plan for the upcoming season
Last year, baseball got cut short. As of today, all systems appear to be "go". Bruno's will be open one way or the other. We put this page together to proactively answer some of the questions we anticipate you might be having. If we don't address it here, please drop us a line.
IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE ON THIS PAGE....be clear on this. We believe the MLB will play one way or another. Therefore, we recommend you have your draft as early as possible when it is safe to do so because we have no idea when there will be a Covid flareup that shutters everything in early spring. IF YOU BELIEVE THERE IS A HIGH LIKELIHOOD THAT MLB WILL PLAY (AND THAT YOUR LEAGUE WILL DRAFT) ORDER YOUR DRAFT BOARD SOONER THAN LATER. Understand it might take awhile to get it, but at least we'll be in the process of getting it. General Bruno's is based in St. Louis. Our county has now had 2 stay-at-home orders/strong suggestions. Regardless, we plan to forge ahead assuming that fantasy baseball will be viable in 2021, whether it starts in April or May. Bruno's Status We're not gonna sugar coat it. When MLB announced a 2-week delay to start the season last year due to Covid-19, our sales turned off like a switch. We had a ton of inventory already produced, which had to be scrapped. We had to furlough our staff. For 2021, we do not foresee a flareup (and consequent shutdown), but we have to be prepared for everything. So we're going to produce materials much earlier than usual. Updates Because we're building the world's largest stockpile of inventory...just in case our government shutters us or or staff gets sick, we are not going to offer updates in 2021. This is traditionally a very laborious task for us, and since we'll have so much inventory on hand, it just won't be in the cards this year. No need to wait for the updates, right? Key takeaway for us: We are going to encourage our customers to get their orders in before crunch time to reduce the last-minute orders. What about returns Guys, we hate to take a harsh stance on this, but as we mentioned above, The Virus is going to be brutal for our existence. If we had to accept returns for the entire season up until August, for example, it would put us out of business. Therefore, we ask that you understand we have to institute a "No Retuns Policy" for 2021, much like we did in football season. Baseball If you bought a draft board already and no longer need it, we are not able to accept returns. Hold onto it for next year, and just get labels. |
